the japanese producer shu okuyama has previously released his music from the labels like milnor modern, minimood, also with his another name, ragout de lapin from compost records. now he sets up his own label komabano oscillation lab with its first release kellnerthought ep. 2 tracks with shuffled beats and bass with his funk mixed with unique voice samples and jazzy feeling synth.

straight out of the ukraine comes io (mulen) aka aleksandr voznichenko, a man whose back catalogue includes releases on labels such as rejected, eklectisch and area remote to name but a few. now he links up with one of paris’ premier labels, run by one of paris’ premier crews – apollonia. with one solid track and a classy remix from danish young gun malin génie, this is another surefire winner from apollonia. ‘to the unknown’ kicks things off with a steady build up. shrouded in a hazy mist it draws you to its understated groove, io turns in a very considered production that evolves at a slow yet utterly gripping pace. the energy levels rise like the tide of the ocean, engulfing you before you know it. io’s dexterity and cunning ability to keep the listener engaged manifests itself here, bomb! on the flip side, malin genie steps in to give ‘to the unknown’ a new lick of paint and what we get is a jazzy, minimal rework with a jaunty skip in its step and a wicked bassline.

rnt co-head jkriv does it up royal here with a bit of old and a bit of new. on the a side the queen on her throne is one of j’s seminal reworks in all of its 8 min glory, and although names have been changed to protect the innocent, a bomb by any other name is still a bomb! on the flip, a lesser known west african 70’s jam is worked up into a raucous jazzy afro-house stomper in king mashie. plus there’s a the stripped down beats-n-synth-apella of queen’s beats, perfect for mixing with the og or played on its own!

city fly are very excited to present their latest 12 inch, this time coming from long time friend of the label and all round powerhouse kez ym. the leicester label have long been representing for the east midlands underground house scene, bringing local talent to the world and bringing global connections to their locale. hot off the back of their 10th release celebration va and a strong offering from legend tim toh, the japanese connoisseur kez ym is back with more of the goodness that has made him a favourite of the label from such an early stage.
the ep drips with kezs trademark blend of deepness, kicking off with the heads down groover of *bump into the sky*. next up *eagle eye* builds around crisp 909 drums and a super tight bass line. pure classic vibes from start to finish. over on the flip *my joy* is underpinned by deep, jazzy chords and finishing off we have *spiral traffic* which takes things to a new tip entirely with an almost latin feel to the chord patterns.

this is the birth of b00m jack s new baby my dear friends n freaks... being asked to describe the 22 year old german musician kolja gerstenberg - one possible answer could sound like that he might be the lost twin brother of jamie jones (but it s just one among many other suitable answers) the youngster and music student (he s studying drums at university) kolja is a total opposite of the typical modern-music-scene-kind-of-guy as he sticks to his passion, which is house music in it s classic disguise like 20 years ago. kolja is not interested in following hypes or trends. what he loves are raw & dirty us house like trax or disco house flavoured tunes with loads of jazzy smell and glitter all over. kolja is and will stay real & authentic by keeping this behaviour. he is not aiming at superfi just for the higher potential of success or money or fame . . .

sing like a bird (reprise) is a fresh version of the track originally released last year on peter van hoesen s time to express label, to which shuttle fans will have become familiar with in recent sets. it maintains the original s hazy reverbed flavour, but in the form of a more groove-oriented and psychedelic edit that sidelines much of the original s vocal track in favour of a snake enchanter-like synewave melody, for a less lyrical but equally musical new take. the b-side back here is an older track that shuttle has been holding back for a while, waiting for the right moment to reveal this atmospheric, melancholic and melodic track, in which intricately delayed layers of piano keys progressively unfold through a rich percussive background made of 808 rims, deep bass kicks, heavy toms and jazzy hats and rides.

after contributing a remix for our label in 2011 daniel stefanik now returns to raum with his first solo single under his new moniker dlsk.
the a side * sense of doubt* is a bit more stripped down and melodic, as the b side and also the title track of this release * subterraneans* is more of a jazzy house groove, that simply doesn’t stop rolling and keeps the tension with subtle variations and other nice little gimmicks. as always we truly hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as we do and we are happy to have daniel back on board as for sure he can be called one of germanys top notch producers.

imyrmind debuts on tartelet with a four-tracker ranging from banging mpc techno to contagious latin house and laidback jazzy wonk. after finishing a degree in architecture and relocating to berlin earlier this year, imyrmind stepped up his game with the release of his solo debut on astro & graef s money $ex imprint. this november will see the release of the beatsmiths second solo venture on tartelet records. the opening track tong po is imyrmind s take on techno, inspired by the villain from jean claude van damme s 1989 cult classic kickboxer. a heavy pitched kick drum, fuzzy melodies with generous use of tape delay and a badass bass line dropping around the three-minute mark makes this a peak time candidate. wanja 9000 slows down the pace. dusty jazz samples and wonky beats with sloppy turntable cuts add a nice live feel to the track. on the b-side upturn sets the mood with classic salsa percussion infused with an epic brass and piano hook that could very well stem from the infamous palmieri brothers or one of their contemporaries. embrace your inner latino and follow your hips. the last track of the record number seven completes the circle with venturous drum programming, layered melodies and plenty of early morning ambiance. imyrmind is scheduled for a three week australia, nz and asia tour in november alongside long-time collaborator glenn astro.

wd43 welcomes italian-disco-demigod, bottin to the roster. bottin offers two uptempo and catchy re-edits sitting alongside a lovely dub of #1 deejay by hristo. on the b2, label head, sleazy mcqueen has elongated the soulful house classic, we all need love. 4 songs tweaked for the jazzy leaning disco set.

stepping up for the second ep on brame & hamos own imprint splendor & squalour is top boy hamo with his debut solo ep -the cotton club. with his partner brame he has already released staggering eps on dirt crew recordings and dam swindles own heist recordings. a fierce rise in the deep house community for sure! we already had a small taste of hamo s solo productions on the clockwerk ep that was released beginning of this year as the first ep on splendor & squalour. now we are giving you a full 5 tracker with a remix from box aus holz/ torben boy kickflip mike. the ep kicks off with title track - cotton club - a jazzy deep house jam, keeping the hip hop vibe present. up next is -wonce- which is a little bit more on the melodic side. we would also like to welcome more of our sligo family to the label with this side up, the hip hop trio is featured as third on the a side with the straight hip hop track in control. on to the b side we have the brilliant kickflip mike adding a much clubbier vibe to -wonce- a real early mornings bomb. to close the ep hamo has given us black lodge, a dusty house groover with delightful hi-hats and very clever sampling going on as in all his works, solo or with his homey brame.

feelings is the next single to be released ahead of tim deluxes highly anticipated lp the radicle, a deep and jazzy cut which includes two distinct versions. with its deep jazzy reprise and classic french house-influenced tone, the club edit pairs a shuffling groove with freeform trumpet courtesy of renowned instrumentalist jay phelps with whom tim has worked extensively. the ice cream dub throws back to tim’s garage-roots, with the name directly referencing the highly influential record label he founded back in the 90s. tim skilfully blends the techniques of his heritage with the more modern, garage-influenced house sounds, creating a bubbling, low-end monster.

metereze keeps a steady path of releases and this time around it is young star vincent iulian who picks up the ball and delivers four astounding tracks on his four quarters ep. also a native of bacau like dubtil and raresh among others vincent has already released on labels like naural or moment.
started is probably the grooviest of them all and for sure youve heard it before if you’ve been attending the right parties. breaking the boundries between techno and house this is a true masterpiece. on the same side he also shows a more relaxed atmosphere filled with jazzy percussions and easy synths. stors kinda makes you stop and dream for a while.
first on side b we have another dancefloor monster. no more is is driven by a hypnotic synth and infused with enough drums to keep you on the move for the whole 7 minutes. le van a cantar keeps the catchy driving mood but this time iulian explores a more broken path. bubbly voices, snares and a haunted synth emerging now and then make this corner as interesting as the rest.

the title track is a monstrous cut designed to get floors sweaty. with its futuristic synth smears, blasts of white noise and slick rubbery beats it is impossible to ignore. full of atmosphere and some ghoulish voices, it s a fine affair from this italian master. the malandra jr remix is even more tense, with industrial machine sounds zipping and fizzing about in a progressive groove, whilst martin patino deconstructs the whole thing and re-builds it as a jazzy minimal affair with sick chords, smears of colourful light and plenty of charisma. lastly, eddy romero & frink go for a dark, dubby, stripped back number that will please the real heads out there.

2015 repress ...fatty fatty phonographics is a new label out of dublin determined to dispense with lazy loop button editing and get back to the original point - to make great songs work better on the dancefloor.

initially alfonso muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son alf, but the character soon started leading it s own life. interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), bullion (main vocal funky latin house mix... or not. it s vocal though), mungolian jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style) and the mysterious tangoterje (dub mambo especial), the icing on the cake finally came in the form of a fully animated music video courtesy of bendik kaltenborn and espen friberg. kind of tricky to explain exactly what goes on in that one, guess you have to see for yourself...

capsule labs music groups debut release is a 4 track house ep from label boss gil t (om, drop music, deeper shades). taking off with the lush sounds of flight 107, a smooth synth journey, nicely descends to get down lowť. the afro cuban house beat sets a nice groove for the live jazzy vibraphone stabs of this classy track. the b side is a real bonus. the private driver really cruises and lastly, not so low is a chunky finisher remix of the title track, all done in house. locally farmed variety of true analog precision by gil tamazyan. each release has its own plastic drop card with a string being held in place with a limited pressing metal foil sticker individually numbered 1-500 on the back side of the jacket. heavyweight virgin vinyl.

the sophomore late night running release features a jazzy theme by aakmael and a more machine driven rework by appian on the a side. for the b-side the label has tracks by man of the moment anaxander and a tightly produced edit by michael zucker.

dj spider & franklin de costa come along with a massive follow-up of their first single on killekill (cat number 016). second bass on the a-side is a bomb of a track with its jazzy beats, otherworldly strings and a bassline straight out of hell. comsume is even more otherworldly with its stumbling, shuffling beat and a spaced-out vocal sample taken from an unnamed sci-fi movies from the 50s. coffee break, the last track of the ep, is a deadlock groove of heavy beats and freaky breaks, that leaves you lost in time and space.
